Welcome to the Spring 2008 edition of Blue Book News!
We are excited to bring you this fall the 120th anniversary edition of the Baltimore Blue Book: Society Visiting List. The book promises to be a commemorative keepsake – with special sections highlighting momentous occasions and families in Baltimore history and society.
Blue Book News was first introduced to subscribers last spring. This issue accompanies the questionnaire mailing for the 2009 edition. Please take a few moments in reading the introductory letter, reviewing your information on the form, and making any appropriate additions and/or changes. Completing and returning the questionnaire with your paid subscription by May 1 is integral to ensuring this book is published. We hope you want this 120-year-old tradition to continue!
Inside this issue special guest writer Linda Bishop recalls some other historical blue books, and explains the significance and relevance of this social registry. Several local businesses, including Clark Appler Opitical, want to be a part of the book’s celebratory year, and are featured in this newsletter and future issues in 2008.
Thank you for being one of our valued subscribers. We hope we can count on your support this year.
Sincerely,

William K. Macsherry
