“BLUE AGE” PROVES THERE’S NOTHING LIKE THE REAL THING!
The cachet of The Baltimore Blue Book name and renown is validated in its many permutations across the years and the nation’s corporate and governmental enterprises. Evidence of this is found surfing the web, reading the Yellow Pages, watching TV or reading your mail.
Manufacturing has MacRAE’s Blue Book: The Industrial Directory of Manufacturers; the automobile industry has The Official Kelley Blue Book for new and used car values; the legal profession has The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (Legal Reference); writers and educators have The Blue Book of Grammar and Punctuation; the wholesale fresh fruit and vegetable industry has Blue Book Online by Produce Reporter Company; even UFO researchers have The Project Blue Book Archive - official US Government documents on UFO phenomenon. The list goes on -- Why?
Since 1888, the “Blue Book” name has become an icon compatible to trust, respect, prestige. Originally and interchangeably known as the “Society Visiting List,” The Baltimore Blue Book is the real McCoy. It is a celebrated tradition of personal and professional networking for thousands of families.
This year, the 120th Anniversary edition, promises to continue a distinctive Baltimore tradition. Having remained “in family hands,” its uniqueness has not diminished. Editor (second generation) William K. Macsherry and Sales Manager Mary Macsherry Martel, following in family footsteps, have made some “technical age” upgrades to increase its population through subscriptions and select advertisers, also adding to the volume family members and e-mail addresses, as well as providing a companion newsletter. Hugh Monaghan joined the group as Publication Manager. For more information, contact William Macsherry at 410-542-2525 or online at
