Nelson Coleman Jewelers understands that giving jewelry is an expression of love. They like to honor that expression by making the whole process meaningful to both the person giving the gift and the person receiving it.

Nelson Coleman Jewelers has been in business for over 150 years. This well-polished business is family-owned. Sixth generation members of the family are on today’s staff. Many of the company’s clients are sixth generation as well, while some are families that are starting at the beginning.

Nelson Coleman Jewelers believes in establishing long-term relationships with their customers. Their move from downtown to Towson in the fall of 2002 made the firm more accessible, with ample off-street parking for their extended family of clients. “Our goal is to provide all of our customers with an outstanding experience.” According to Chris Coleman, “We offer something for everyone.”

Nelson Coleman Jewelers’ sparkling inventory ranges from a simple ¼ carat diamond to a 9-carat solitaire. “We don’t just sell jewelry, we custom create and repair jewelry as well.” Nelson Coleman’s master craftsmen work with estate jewelry, contemporary jewelry and everything in between. Their staff is extensively educated in all aspects of the jewelry trade as highly trained GIA registered gemologists and designers.

Nelson Coleman Jewelers is the only company in Baltimore County that is a member of the American Gem Society, which established its high industry standards in 1934. Nelson Coleman Jewelers believes in consumer protection and education, which are important aspects of their ongoing communication with their clients. The firm features one-of-a-kind estate jewelry and unique Nelson Coleman jewelry created by in-house designers. Nelson Coleman is well known for cultivating local talent for jewelry design and manufacturing. Their services include two highly skilled designers who provide on-site consultations regarding all aspects of jewelry design, including art renderings, wax layouts and more.

Nelson Coleman Jewelers takes the time to get to know their customers. The staff knows what would be an appropriate gift for any occasion. They are very comfortable with their well-established single full service location. They may have a desire to expand or open multiple locations in the future, but have no desire to become a large jewelry department store.
